Dr. Miracle's Conditioning Treatment

I am always looking for a better hair product. My mother has great hair and lives in the Tropics. She uses Dr. Miracles "Feel It" Tingling Deep Conditioning Treatment. This is a deep conditioner. She usues it once every two weeks to give her hair a moisture boost. This is typically in the black hair care section. She says it has helped with her dry hair and breakage, they say it will help with slow growth. My mom says she has noticed a differene and has been using it for a month now. This was a recommendation from her beauty salon on the Island. So this is a must. For one pack it only cost about $2 US dollar. Try it out!

Garnier Nutritioniste- Nutri-Pure Microbead Cream Scrub

So as I have been testing out new face products and really enjoyed the Garnier face cream I decided to try out their face scrub as well. Proactive did not work for me and cost way to much! Clearasil worked for a while but was making my face too dry! So far this product leaves my face still moist and clean.

This product contains Green-Leaf Extract and Vitamin E which I believe is why it keeps your skin smooth and moist, where most scrubs just remove all of the natural oils from your skin. I have been using it for 2 weeks now and I really see a difference! This cost about $6 at CVS, plus they typically have coupons too !

Wearing mascara at night

Busted! As reading through TheBeautyStop.com posted by Jane I thought this would be very important to share, because we have all been too tired to remove that mascara from our eyes.

I remember my mother going to sleep at night without cleaning mascara off. In her mind, mascara was relatively harmless.Unfortunately, this is not true. As with all makeup, you should always wash your mascara off before you go to sleep. Mascara contains ingredients and compounds that will make your eyelashes fall out. So, if you want to keep those lovely lashes, wash wash and wash.

Cold Wax Kits

Okay so the concept seems great! Save money by doing all your own waxing at home. This product I purchased came with 4 step products. Your first clean the area then put this powder on, and apply the wax with a stick. You then place the reusable cloth over the waxed area and press down and pull off. Okay this product removed hmm 25% of my hair! I tried this product mutliple times to get my $20 worth but nope. I tried at different lengths of hair, and same sad results. This product is a Bust!

Nivea Body Lotion

Yup ladies and gents spend the extra bucks on Nivea Body Lotion. It's not greasy or to thick! I have been trying this product and my skin is starting to glow. As I'm getting older I am learning you got to use lotion daily on your skin. I've used off cheap brands and I can tell you the extra dollar or two goes as long way. I used Nivea Original Moisture Daily Lotion.

Garnier Skin Renew Radiance Moisture Cream

I have been in the market for a new moisturizer, and I decided to try out Garnier Skin Renew. I would have to say over a year ago I tried one of their regular moisturizers and was not impressed. This product however offers skin defence and is suppose to brighten and smooth out your skin. This product contains lycopense, caffeine, and vitamin c. Today is day two using this product and I kid you not it already has my face appearing cleaner and fuller. I have a lot of sun damage on my nose and under my eyes. So far this product is a must for over the counter moisturizer. I purchased mine at Wal-Mart for $12. Can't be it!

The Current Hair Hype Keratin Treatments

Okay so if you have hard Keratin Hair Treatments have been a craze. They are typically around 150 for the service in the salons. This is a heated treatment that they put on your hair and it is locked in to your hair through the heat. It tend to stay for a month or so and makes your hair super soft , shiny, and it straightens your hair. Nice huh and all with out harsh chemicals! Well my mother got this treatment done for free after the salon kept getting her fabulous hair color wrong. Now my mother is young but has years of hair care issues to back her up and she says that this treatment has made her hair feel so soft and and healthy that it trumps all other beauty products she has used before. Now I'm thinking this must be a Must! Now the only thing next is how I can figure out to get this done cheaper!

ApHOgee Gloss Hair Polish

I tried a new product that has come out since all of the Keratin craze called Aphogee Products. Sally's had a sale so I of course usually try out the sample packets first before dedicating myself to a full bottle. The gloss if for frizzy out of control hair, hello me! You can use the gloss on your hair when it's damp or dry. I applied the gloss to my hair when it was dry. I dappled a dime size amount on my fingertips and ran it through my hair. It came our very nice. My hair did not feel too oily or greasy or go flat throughout the day. I was pretty impressed. Most de-frizzeing glosses and gel cause my hair to become to oily and they tend to weigh down my hair making it flat. But Aphogee is fairly priced, I would recommend this to my frizzy friends! Enjoy!

Brighten your Nail Color

Okay so it's been a while since I've had to do my own nails and with all these new bright colors being in style I didn't know how to make the most of them. I purchased a bright yellow fast painting nail polish from Sally's Beauty Salon and once I applied 5 coats it still didn't look right. I got the tip from my sister to try putting on a white coat first then apply the color. Wow why didn't I think of that! So with all these new hip 80's colors coming back don't forget to paint a base coat like white to help those colors come out! Enjoy!

Hair care for Swimmers

My mother lives in the Caymans and battles frizz and ocean water damaging her gorgeous hair. A great tip from the locals is prior to going in the ocean for for a swim put conditioner in you hair. Then after you get done swimming rinse it out. This will help protect your hair from sea salt and chemicals. Enjoy swimmers!

Relaxing Hair Treatment Lamaur-Bone Marrow

My mother has suggested this product. It has been out for about 25 years! You can find it at Sally's. This is a deep penetrating treatment for frizzy out of control hair. This is something you got to know if it's been around forever it must work! She said this is a definite must!

For an Extra Eye Curl

I got this tip out of the book," Plastic Surgery without the surgery, the miracle of makeup techniques." To add an extra oomph to those lashes, heat up with a blow dryer your metal curler for about 15 seconds. You don't want it too hot where you will get burned. Then use the curler on your lashes as usual. This will let the curl stay longer and better! Love it!

Lip Tip

We damaged our lips by applying crazy plumper's and lipstick through out the day. So just like our skin we need to moisten our lips. So for smooth kissable lips apply a creamy smooth lip balm before bed every night. You will wake up with soft smooth lips!

L'oreal Paris Telescopic Explosion Mascara

This is a Bust! It's great to get those little tiny lashes but it is way too difficult to use. It's also pretty pr icy for an over the counter mascara! It also makes you lashed clump since it's difficult to use. Yes the idea was inventive and you can reach small lashes but only with difficulty and sacrificing the rest of your lashes to look horribly clumpy. Don't waste you moo la!

Clearasil Face Cleanser

Okay so after my downfall with the Big label Acne products I have decided to try some simple over the counter products. For my nightly routine I use Clearasil Face Cleanser all over my face gently rubbing it in and rinsed with cool water. I have heard if you have sensitive skin always rinse with cool water. I really like cleanser because unlike acne scrubs they don't leave your skin dry. This morning my face felt fresh and clean. This product is very inexpensive and can be found at all drugstores.

Baby Powder for Thick Lashes

A friend recommended that I use baby powder on my lashes to help thicken them up. It seems like it would be a great idea because powders typically hold liquid and oils very well. I have searched the web and found mix reviews on this so I though I would give it a try and test it our.
After testing this for two days my lashes have never looked so good! I couldn't find any small Baby powder containers so I went to the dollar store to pick up one. Since I wear contacts my eyes are very sensitive so I was very careful by putting the baby powder on the tips of my fingers and rubbing my eyelashes with my two fingers very carefully. After I put the baby powder on I applied my mascara with the Zig Zag motion and they looked so long and evenly spaced! This is a must!

Oil Hair- Dry Shampoo

So my sister discovered this home made dry shampoo mix that you apply to your hair when it starts to become oily the second day you typically don't' shampoo your hair. Its' so easy to make and actually really worked for me. I just dappled about a quarter size in my hand and then rubbed it onto my roots all over and it looked great and the dryness stayed for hours! Just google to search home made dry shampoo!

Bright Color Polish!

Okay let's face it we are back into the bright 80's colors! Love it or not these colors are a hit on your toes and fingernails! Just check out some recent Hollywood pics! I recommend that hot color polish is in right now and definitely a must! Just check out Cassi's new look and hot pink nails!

Max Factor Color Genius Foundation with Minerals

Okay so we all need a great foundation right, well with this economy I can't spend what I use to on high end products. Max Factor has been around for a long time and there products have changed with all the nee hype about minerals. I have been using every day after I moisturize and apply and blemish cover up and base a small amount if this foundation and it spreads so smooth and thin that I barley feel like I have anything on my face! I got this on sale at Target for around $6 so it is compatibly very inexpensive and works great. I have had no break outs with this product either however I would always recommend with any face make up to try out a small part on your skim first before applying all over. Max factor products are a must!

Mascara- Maybelline Colossal

So long thick lashes are in right now and I have been trying Maybelline Colossal Mascara. I have found this mascara to work great! It's not to thick and sticky and it blends nicely on my lashes. I take my wand and brush the tip on the top of the base to get off any excess mascara. I then start at the base of my lashes closest to my eye lid and brush out in a zig zag motion to get the most volume. This brand is fairly priced and on sale even sometimes at Wal-Mart and Target. This Mascara is a must!

So I have been using Proactive for some time but I still get break outs! So I have decided to cancel my membership and move on to a new product! I have tried almost everything in the past but I am hoping there are some new ones I haven't tried. I used Neutrogena in my teen years and I really liked it but I still would break out. I also used Biore and Clean and Clear. So today I will hit up the store and check out the Skin Care Isle and try out a new product! Bye bye blemished hello beautiful skin!

Nail Base

Okay so as the economy has crashed I have not been going to the nail salon. So I have been starting to do my nails at home. I tried Sally Hanson's Instant Grip Nail Base. It is suppose to make your color brighter and last longer.

I used it on my left hand and then tried just nail color on my right hand to see the difference.

Here is my right hand you really can't tell much of a difference I must say.
Over all I must say a few days later my nails started to chip. The chipping was much worse on my right hand where I used no base but the my nails on the left with the base chipped as well. Not sure this was worth the money. It cost around $4 US dollars with tax. I think next time I will just try a top coat.

Proactive Refining Mask

Out of all the Proactive Products I really like the Refining Mask the best! I think it is a good product. I am not sure of what is can compare to an in store product. It is very simple you just first rinse your face then take about a dime size amount and put it all over your face or concentrate just on the blemishes. You can leave it on for about 5 minutes no longer then 10 or else it will dry out your skin too much. You just rinse gently and pat dry. I have seen blemishes go down in a matter of two days with this product.

Shampooing your Hair Every other Day

So after reading some Yahoo Questions I have decided to try Shampooing my hair every other day. My hair has a mind of its I own I swear it it typically very dry or very greasy never in between! So I tried the first day as usual with shampooing my hair had some frizz. The next day I only conditioned ( i was using my ovation cell therapy bottle). My hair that day smelled really nice and was very soft. I did do a bad mistake and decided to straighten my hair with the added protective heat spray I used it made my hair look really greasy. Ick. The next day I washed my hair and it is looking good! I did not straighten or blow dry my hair. I think this may have helped. I plan to try this throughout the week and let you know what worked. I think this formula has to be different for every person and their hair. I definitely say though going with out shampoo for dry frizzy hair is a Must!

Smooth Away Hair Remover

Every gal likes a quick way to remove unwanted hair. The idea of the Smooth Away Hair Remover seems very nice and painless! It's basically a soft plastic holder and q "sand paper" like pad that you rub against your skin . It sounds like it would scratch you but it doesn't. You have to rub it in a circular motion When I tried it, I did get some hair off but for the most part it removed nothing. I even tried rubbing it very hard and still nothing came off. I tried short hair to long hair, and still the same disappointing results. Save your $10 and just get some razors and shaving cream ladies! Don't wast your money and time with this product.

Bump It

So every once in a while you want to get that big hair with high volume look like you get in the salon. Well they came out with this product called the Bump-It! The package comes with three sizes. You basically tease your hair and then the piece between your scalp and under your teased hair. The piece has little tiny edges that will stick between your hair, you push it forward then let you hair fall on top of it. You do have to do some work to hide it. I even recommend getting some bobby pins and trying to really reinforce the piece in your hair because if you plan on walking to dancing around for hours it can fall out and that would definitely be embarrassing. This used to be about $20 in beauty supply store, but I have found it for $10 at Sally's and now available at Wal-Mart for $9.98! For the price it's not bad but definitely play around with the bobby pins and hair spray to make sure it stays!

Ovation Hair Cell Therapy

Just like any helpless hair victim I am always looking for a new product to give me more volume and luxurious hair. After hearing ad after ad I purchased Ovation Hair Cell Therapy. Yes it does cost around $100 bucks give or take the first time buyer discount and shipping. When it finally arrived you received 3 bottles. A shampoo, conditioner, and the cell therapy. Now it states to only use this product 2-3 times a week. I started off using it twice a week, because I was still upset that I paid so much money and wanted it to last! The cell therapy can be worn as a mask on your hair. You leave it on for a few hours, don't leave it on over night. After a few weeks I did get complements that my hair looked shinier. But I still felt like my hair was thin. I can honestly say that I have damaged my hair since I was 11 years old so my hair is pretty dead. The conditioner did make my hair feel very soft and it smells good too! I can't say after 1 month of using that I have noticed any more hair growth though, which is very disappointing since that is why I wished to purchase it. Overall nice product not worth the amount.
